Federations and League

The  4 Days Walking Chantonnay Vendee (R4JCV) is the only town in France that is a member of the International Marching League (IML), and adheres to the FFRP or French Federation of Walkers and the IVV or Federation of Popular Sports.

On 22nd August 1947

the Comité National des Sentiers de Grande Randonnée (CNSGR) or National Committee of Walking Trails

was formed. It brought together the Touring Club of France, the French Alpine Club, the Vosgien Club, the Marseille Excursionists, the Scouting movements and Youth Hostels.

French Federation of Walkers

was established on 22nd April 1978. In 1985 the Federation was officially approved as a Sports Federation. It allowed them to work in association with French Departments and regional representatives of which there are 120 today. They bring together it’s many qualities, more than 13,000 volunteers, trail makers, active members that have the expertise to help the Federation grow professionally.

R4JCV or 4 Days Walking Chantonnay Vendee is a member of the FFRP.

INTERNATIONALER VOLKSSPORT VERBAND

FÉDÉRATION INTERNATIONALE DES SPORTS POPULAIRES

The International Federation of Popular Sports (IVV) is represented in 16 countries. It promotes sport to be within the reach of all. It also promotes friendship between people and contributes to a healthy lifestyle.

 

The International Badge of Popular Sport is the link between us all.

R4JCV or 4 Days Walking Chantonnay Vendee is a member of the IVV.

The International Marching League (IML),

was founded in 1987 in Tokyo, Japan.

The 8 founding countries were Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Ireland, Japan, Luxembourg, Switzerland and The Netherlands.

Its aim is to encourage friendship between people around the world by organising non competitive international walks.

The motto of the IML : “NOS IUNGAT AMBULARE” – ” WALKING UNITES US”.
